Chanel Sees the "Big Picture" and Utilizes Plus Size Model for Campaign
Curvy model Crystal Renn has nabbed the coveted spot for a new ad campaign with Chanel. And no one is more shocked than her. The size 10 model told Fashionista that the campaign for the reopening of the Chanel store in SoHo is the "proudest moment of my life." “I’m absolutely freaking out,” she said.
Renn left the straight-size modeling world after who struggling anorexia and exercise bulimia. Since reemerging as a 'plus-size' model, she has gone on to appear on more than seven international issues of Vogue. The brand's choice comes as a surprise, seeing as designer Karl Largerfeld has been outspoken critic of plus-size models. He told a German magazine that no one wanted to see curvy models on their TV screens. "You've got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly," he said to the Daily Mail.
Renn attributes her recent deal to a changing view in the fashion industry and a new ideal for models to live by. “It’s about a personality and a moment captured...it’s not about body size it’s about talent and effort," said Renn to Fashionista. "I hope the industry sees this [campaign] as an example of that.”

Plus Sized Fur Coats Help Bigger Ladies Look and Feel Glamorous
I’m a bigger lady and always have trouble finding clothes that are plus-size AND glamorous-looking. I was in the market for a stylish new evening coat this winter – one that I could wear to friends’ dinner parties over the holidays or to a Broadway show with my husband – but the bigger coats that I kept coming across were pretty plain-looking.
So, I turned to the Internet, did a search for plus-size fur coats, and voila, I had found my new coat. Aspenfashions.com has a huge selection of fur coats, in a range of styles, shades and sizes – from petite to plus sizes fur coats. They had my size – size 22. Perfect! My only problem was deciding on what type of fur, color and length I wanted.
I debated for a few days over whether to get the full-length Mink Coat with Soft Brown Brushstrokes, the Natural Blue Fox Fur Coat (which is actually white), or the Black Chinchilla Trimmed Sheared Mink Jacket. I’d never been so spoiled for choice of so many plus-size fur coats before.
I finally decided to purchase the full-length Mink Coat because honey brown tones tend to suit my dark complexion. I was amazed at how affordable the price was – I expected to have to pay a lot more!
A week later, I received my new mink coat in the mail – and I absolutely love it. The fur is luxurious and chic, and the cut is so classic and flattering to my body shape. My friends keep commenting on how trim, stylish and glamorous I look!

The Plus Size Outerwear Guide
Plus Size Shearling Coat Outerwear is a term that basically refers to any type of jacket, coat or piece of clothing that can be worn over the rest of your regular clothes. In the most simplest terms, outerwear can be defined as any sort of clothing that can act as a jacket, wrap or covering that goes over your existing outfit; this is a huge category, with many different possibilities as far as what can be classified within it. When it comes to plus size outerwear, there is no exception taken. It can include plus size pea coats, fur coats, leather jackets, blazers, hooded coats, raincoats, wool coats and numerous other kinds of different garments. To further narrow things down, these coats are typically broken down according to the season it is most appropriate to wear them in due to the weather - meaning we are left with spring, winter, summer and fall outerwear.
There is again no difference when it comes to shopping for plus size outerwear as there is an abundance of it in department stores and even online and Internet based stores. It is always recommended that each person have at least one or two coats for each season, but some kinds of outerwear can be cross-matched depending on the season. For example, you may find that having one or two pieces is sufficient for both the fall and spring. Variety is the spice of life so do not be afraid to be bold or even willing to experiment with different styles and types of jackets and coats. Over time you will, as with anything else in life, develop a special affinity and liking for particular types of plus size outerwear but this is only natural. Do not ever be afraid to try something new because you will never know if you will end up liking it or even having it become your new favorite thing. You should also always plan your wardrobe in advance. It should never be a tedious thing to keep track of what you do and do not have, but rather it should be fun to go shopping for new things while keeping a good conscious record of what you have back at home. Finding new things to mix and match with existing and older clothing can also spice up older things that you have lost favor in and bring them back into the front light and back into your current wardrobe with a new zest that may end up surprising you. What Women Should Look for in Plus Size Jackets
By Trevor Mulholland
When the cold seasons set in, certain wardrobe essentials for larger women are necessary and plus size fur jackets are one of them. For the working woman, a good long coat is essential. Wool is good because it insulates heat during those winter mornings. Larger women should have a basic, solid color of coat to complement the predominant colors in the wardrobe. The coat should be long enough to match the length of the longest skirt in the wardrobe and large enough to accommodate a blazer or sweater worn under it. There should be a minimum of two coats in a woman's wardrobe, one for wearing at work and another for special occasions. One can also add a fur jacket for casual engagements. For milder cold weather regions, a trench coat for the rainy season should be enough. Stick to neutral colors like black, gray, navy and camel for both plus size wool and plus size fur coats.
For office wear plus size jackets, blazers are the perfect choice . They can be paired with coordinating pants or a nice skirt to project a professional aura while allowing for versatility. A basic wool blazer is a sound choice plus it also works with jeans to achieve a casual look. Heavy-set women should choose long jackets extending below the hip. Short jackets tend to cut the body in half, which is not very flattering to the figure. Loud plaids and prints must be avoided, instead invest in muted plaids and solid prints.
Meanwhile, cardigans and sweaters are an absolute must-have for business wear. For plus size women, it is wise to choose a soft blended knit ensemble and ensure that both pieces fit comfortably. The sweater set is perfect with cropped pants or a skirt. It offers warmth as well as style. Beaded and metallic sets, on the other hand, are ideal for evenings out.
A good jacket must always come with a matching pair of boots. In today's fashion scene, every woman should have at least a pair. High boots go well with long skirts or with a pair of wool cropped pants. Boots should fit comfortably around the calves so always try them on before buying a pair. Some designs come with an elastic insert on the side which is great for women with larger legs.
There is absolutely no reason for larger women to keep wearing bulky sweat shirts to protect them against the cold climate. Plus size jackets can be acquired in every fashion outlet and department store nowadays and most of them are designed not just to look fashionable, but also to provide comfort to women of bigger size.

Fur Coats Shopping: The Factors to Consider
Author: Lesley Lyon
It will be a thrilling experience for those who buy the fur coat, may be for the first time or to purchase the same to add it to their collection of fur coats. The amount spent on the fur coat can be an asset and hence one should choose the correct fur coat while doing the purchase.
Before finalizing the type of fur coat purchase, one has to decide the need for the requirement of the fur coat. Whether the same is needed for the purpose of fashion or looking for a durable quality coat. This only will help the intending purchaser to decide on the correct coat.
Firstly, the fur has to be selected. Once the person decides the necessity for the coat, he can shape out the correct fur that will suit him best. Fur taken from the animals like rabbit, sable, fox and chinchilla are used for the manufacture of the fashion fur coats and furs taken from the animals like coyote and wolf are very durable and are used in the fur coats that are generally used for the protection during cold weather. The mink fur coats perform well in all the directions as the same comes with the fine striped design and also it is semi water proof.
Before purchasing the fur coat, one has to decide about the style of coat that will be more practical. The long and robe like coat will be good for the occasions of formal nature and for the practical purposes like climbing of the mountains this will not be useful and one has to go in for a tight fitting jacket.
The next thing is the price. One should decide about the price range. If the coat selected suits perfectly, then one should not get frightened about the price or else he can look in for a good substitute. To quote an example, if he finds the mink fur coat as an expensive one, he can look in for a beaver of good quality.
If a person do not wish wear the fur taken from some animals, then he should check the animal fur that is used in the coat he has selected. When a person selects a coat that is damaged lightly and can be used, then he can demand the seller for a good discount and some of the shops will offer the same very happily to clear off their stocks. There are sellers who do the sale of duplicate fur coats. It is not that easy to find out the difference between the original and the duplicate fur. In the original fur, the hide can be seen and in the duplicate fur the fabric is seen underneath. When the fur is rubbed with the fingers the original fur will be felt smooth and silky than the duplicate fur which will be rough.
